So, I got laid off this week...and at first I was freaking out, I thought what am I going to do, where am I going to work, how am I going to pay for those steve madden shoes that i so desperately wanted?! And then I calmed down and realized that hey, there are tons and tons of jobs out there, I just am going to have to search right?
At first I was applying for every job I could find, whether or not I would actually want to do it. And there was no response from anyone. Then, I started to think that maybe temping would be better because then I wouldn't have to commit to a job and I could still get unemployment checks. After hearing back from 2 temp agencies that they had no positions available at this time and to try back in six months, I got a little depressed :(
Then, I finally heard back from a job, it was for 10 hours a week helping a writer get her book published. Unfortunately the e-mail went something like this....I am so sorry to tell you that I received 120 responses to my post in 24 hours, and can not go through all of the resumes. Thank you for your interest.
120 applications in 24 hours for a job that was only 10 hours per week?!!!!
I'm screwed.
So...I've decided to call my time funenemployment and thanks to the California tax payers my dreams of no working are coming true...at least for the next 6 months or until I find someone who will hire me....
