say what???!!!

hot off the presses from perezhilton...my favorite disney flick is going to be live action?!!!!!!

Right on, Disney! Good for you for backing an underdog.

Disney has agreed to invest $100 million into Zhang Ziyi's live action, 3D adaptation of their 1998 cartoon Mulan. Ziyi plans to both produce and star in the film.

While the original cartoon won many awards upon its release, it never seemed to get the affection that Aladdin, The Lion King, and Cinderella have enjoyed over the years, and we're happy to see that it's getting its day.

The plot involves a female warrior who dresses like a man in an effort to join the army in her father’s place. Much like the original cartoon, the film will tackle complicated gender issues.

No word yet on whether or not Eddie Murphy will return as the voice of a CGI version of Mushu the dragon, but we’ll pray that he doesn’t keep an eye out.
