My mother was a home ec teacher...well still is...and loves to cook, and being a hypochondriac she has taught me to be extra careful in the kitchen, and never to eat leftovers that have even the slightest chance of being too old. Well, all that changed when i had to start paying for my own food, hamburger helper could last over a week, and milk was totally good past the due date. Well, the other day my boyfriend and I were going to make turkey helper, but then decided to go out to eat, but we had already defrosted the turkey, so we just stuck it in the fridge and were going to eat it the next night. Of course we didn't....fast forward to a week and a half later we decided to use that same turkey in turkey helper. The lady at the grocery store had informed us it was still totally fine. That night, as I lay in bed, my stomach started cramping....so horribly bad, i went to the bathroom and in my mind i was cursing my boyfriend....the turkey was sooooooo not ok to eat.......and my body was pissed at me
lesson learned...don't eat old meat....hmmm...i would think that would be obvious...but then again ...
